The district which surrounds the hotel has been known as ‘Haymarket’ since the 1830's. During the early years, it was the trading spot for hay and livestock on the outskirts of Old Sydney Town and during this time, the driving of stock happened in the hustle and bustle of Haymarket’s little streets.
The building is heritage listed and was built during the late 1800's to provide space for cold storage facilities and a fruit market to support the surrounding vegetable market that had already been operating in the area for a number of years.
For a taste of the market activity which has so defined this region for over 150 years be sure to pay a visit to Paddy's Market which is located directly opposite the hotel and is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 5pm.
Reception - Our reception is manned 24 hours, so we are available whenever required. We also have safe deposit boxes available at reception, so your valuables are secure at all times.

We offer boxed breakfast for $7.00 in-house or a unlimited buffet breakfast next door at the Citigate Hotel for $14.00. Our friendly reception staff can also suggest some of Sydney's fantastic dinning options depending on your needs.
